Casino Stud Poker
Casino Stud Poker or Caribbean Poker is a card game in which the player is trying to beat the dealer. First of all the player bets on their ante. The dealer deals 5 cards to each player and 5 cards to himself and over turns his final card.
The object of the game is to put together one of the poker hands below. If the player hasn’t got a hand they throw in their cards and they lose their ante bet. If the player has a good hand they raise the ante by double which keeps them in the game. If their hand beats the dealers then they are paid even money on their ante and fixed odds on their winning hand as stated above.
If the dealer does not draw a hand then the player is paid even money on their ante and they keep their raised bet even if they have a great hand. Those are the rules and where the buzz comes from. It can be quite frustrating when the player has a straight flush paying odds of 50-1 and the dealer does not draw a hand. All they get is even money on their ante.
Even if the player doesn’t have a hand they can still raise their bet and hope the dealer has nothing, but that is risky and they could lose more than double their money just for hoping for a no hand and only hoping to get paid on their ante.
