Craps Game Rules
Craps is played with 2 dice. The player rolling the dice is called the shooter.
The first roll from the shooter is called the come out roll.
The following 2 bets are bets that are placed before the come
out roll
Craps Pass Line Bets.
This bet pays even money. When the player bets on the pass line they
are waging that the shooter with be successful in rolling either 7 or
11.
Pass Line Results
- 7 or 11 win
- 2,3 or 12 loss
- 4,5,6,8,9,10 point
For example
If the shooter rolls a 6 then that becomes the point. He carries
on throwing until he throws either a 6 or 7; if the shooter rolls a six
before the 7 it’s a win, if the shooter throws a 7 before a 6 then
it loses. All unresolved pass line bets may not be removed, increased,
or reduced; they must be resolved by rolling the point or 7.
Craps Don’t Pass Line Bets
This bet pays even money. It’s the opposite of a Pass Line Bet,
which means the player is betting that the shooter will not be successful
in rolling either 7 or 11. The only difference is that if the shooter
rolls 12 then it’s a tie, which is called a push.
Don’t pass line results
- 7 or 11 loss
- 2 or 3 win
- 12 tie
For example
The player doesn’t want the shooter to roll 7 or an 11.
If on his come out roll the shooter rolls 3 or a 12 the player wins;
if the come out roll is 7 or 11 the player loses. If the come out is
2 it’s a push and passed back to the player. If the come out roll
is 4, 5,6,8,9, or 10 then that becomes the point. The shooter carries
on throwing until he throws either his point or 7. The player needs him
to roll 7 to win. All unresolved Don’t Pass Line Bets may be removed
or reduced but not increased.
Please note that if the shooter is winning, the dice are not passed on.
They are only passed on to the next player if the shooter rolls a 7,
which is called a 7 out.
There are other bets after the come out roll. These following bets can
only be placed once the point has been established and work separately
to the pass line and don’t pass line bets.
Craps Come Bet
A Come Bet is placed in the come field on the craps table. This bet is made after the initial come out roll when the shooter has a point to roll. The player wins on a Come Bet with 7 or 11 and lose on 2,3 or 12. Any other number that is rolled becomes the point. The player wins if the point comes up before 7 and loses if 7 is rolled before the point. Come bets cannot be increased, reduced, or removed. They must be resolved
Don’t Come Bet
This is the opposite of the come bet and is placed on the Don’t Come Bar. After the initial come out roll when a shooter has a point to roll. The player loses on the initial roll with 7 or 11, and wins with 3 or 12. If the shooter rolls 2 it is returned back to the player in a push. Any other number that comes up becomes the point. The player wins on a Don’t Come Bet if 7 is rolled before the point and loses if the point is rolled before 7. Don’t Come Bets may be removed or reduced but not increased.
